Exhibit: "Journey of Reflection:
Celebrating Glass in Pittsburgh"
Premiered October 3, 2007

Before Pittsburgh became a center of steel production, it was one of the country's leading producers of glass. "Journey of Reflection: Celebrating Glass in Pittsburgh" traces more than two centuries of industrial and artistic glassmaking in the region. From the last decade of the eighteenth century through the mid-twentieth, Southwestern Pennsylvania was home to nearly a hundred glass companies which supplied the nation's buildings, homes, hospitals, and factories. Today, continuing the region's connection with glass, artists from around the world come here to create, teach, collaborate, and exhibit. This show celebrates the utility and beauty of glass as well as the craftspeople and artists who have contributed to Pittsburgh's glass legacy.

Dollar Bank wishes to thank all those who contributed to this project.
