Regional Showcase

The Regional Showcase is the main exhibit using still images and High Definition digital and standard video to fill the 40-foot wide by 5-foot tall glass wall outside of "The Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom." With eight high resolution rear projectors, this dramatic display shows the region's accomplishments in technology, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, higher education and the arts. A state-of-the-art sound system was added in early 2005, turning the installation into a more engaging experience.

January - June 2005

The sun rises over Southwestern Pennsylvania, and with it comes a new day for the Pittsburgh region. We awake to a bright and beckoning future, one of momentum and innovation, of emerging potential and hope. There are new opportunities in technology, in healthcare and commerce. New ideas and inspiration spring from an intellectual community made up of more than 100 universities, colleges and preparatory schools. A new spirit of creativity in the arts can be seen and felt everywhere. As the sun sets over our rivers, the region shimmers with the possibilities of the new day to come.
